Characteristics
Plants
foliar, extremely variablle in size and shape and variously divided
into narrow segments, 1-2 mm broad in 10-20 cm high plants; thallus
flat, palmate, sub-dichotomously divided into larger and smaller lobes;
lobes elongate, linear lanceolate, attenvoted towards base; the thickness
of the thallus is 400-500 µ; apex acute or rounded, margin sinvate,
irregularly dentate with larger or smaller proliferations; colour
dark brown, turning to dirty green when decaying.
Distribution
: Gujrat, Malvan, Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), Goa, Karwar, Bhatlakl (Karnataka).
